Sourdough Workshop

Join Leticia of Ashby Sourdough for this sourdough bread workshop.

During this demonstration-style workshop with some hands-on participation, you will develop an understanding of the process behind baking artisan, naturally leavened sourdough. This class will simplify the sourdough process and give you the confidence to bake hand-crafted loaves from your home oven.

You will take home a shaped dough ready to bake and afternoon tea of freshly baked sourdough with jams and other condiments.

The sourdough workshop begins at 2 pm and wraps up around 4.30 pm. However, you are welcome to arrive at 1.45 pm for a barista-style coffee or a pot of loose-leaf tea and a sweet treat.

The price includes a 2.5-hour demonstration-style workshop (with some hands-on participation), bread tasting, and a booklet of recipes to take home.

By booking you agree to these terms and conditions:

  1. Please advise any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
  2. 7 days notice is required if you wish to transfer to another class or to request a credit that can be used for another date or used in the store.
  3. Cancellations made within 7 days or less of the class date will not be refunded, transferred or credited. You are welcome to send someone in your place, otherwise, your spot will be forfeited.
  4. In case of host sickness or emergency, we reserve the right to change the class to another date and will offer a full refund if you cannot make that date.
  5. There is a minimum of 6 participants required for the class. We reserve the right to cancel the class up to 3 days before its date if we do not have enough bookings. You will be offered the option to transfer to another date or receive a refund.
  6. If Kitchen to Table cancels a class because of items 4 or 5, Kitchen to Table will not be held liable for any expenses incurred by the attendee to attend the class.

– How to maintain a healthy sourdough starter
– Step-by-step breakdown of the sourdough baking process (mixing, fermenting, shaping, proving, baking)
– How to use your recipe to create infinite variations
– Tasting bread that will be baked during the workshop
– Opportunity to ask questions and take notes

Leave the workshop with:
– A portion of starter to nourish and develop
– Your hand-shaped dough to bake later in your home oven
– A comprehensive instruction booklet to take home

What to bring:
– a 1/2 – 1L glass jar or container to transport your starter home
– a loaf pan or proving basket to take your dough home in – both of these will be available to purchase of the day if needed
– an apron (optional)
