Sicily foodie tour

A wonderful group joined me for our inaugural Sicily Coast foodie tour in May 2023. We had the best time exploring the villages along the stunning coastline and sampling local food along the way.

Open Sunday till 2 ish, then weekdays 9:30 to 5. We’ll be closed New Year’s Day.

I make these spiced nuts every Christmas. They're so yummy and perfect to serve with drinks or pop them in a nice jar or decorative bowl and gift them to family and friends.

2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Herbies' Curry Mix Seeds and Spices
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp salt flakes
1 egg white
500 g raw mixed nuts
50 g pepitas

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 150C. Line 1 large or 2 small baking trays with baking paper.
2. In a bowl combine the brown sugar, spice mix, cinnamon and salt flakes.
3. In a clean bowl, whisk the egg white to stiff peaks then whisk in the spice mixture.
Add the nuts and stir to coat evenly then tip the nuts onto the tray and spread into an even layer. Bake for 15 minutes then remove from the oven and give the nuts a stir. Reduce the oven temperature to 125C.⁠
4. Return the nuts to the oven for a further 10-15 minutes or until dry and golden and starting to smell really good. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes then try one - if it’s nice and crunchy they are ready. If not return them to the oven for another few minutes and test again.
5. Allow to cool then transfer to an airtight jar or container, or divide into gift bags and seal. Nuts will stay fresh for several weeks if stored in an airtight jar.⁠
