Paella Party

Paella recipe, Kitchen to Table, Yamba

Thank you to everyone who attended our Paella Party, it was a great night of Spanish food and wine. We love to host these events for our customers as a way of saying thank you for supporting a local business and to showcase a selection of products available in the store.

Paella Party
The crowd enjoys Spanish food and wine!

Our theme for this event was Spanish Paella, so we prepared a seafood-based paella and a chicken and chorizo paella. Both were devoured by the hungry crowd, with not a skerrick of rice left in the pan! Oh, we love that … always a reassuring sign that our food was enjoyed. We used Herbie’s Spices Paella spice mix which is a great flavour base for any paella. We basically follow the recipe on the back of the pack, and it is easily adapted to either seafood or chicken and chorizo.

A Paella Party is a great way to feed a hungry crowd! To kick off the evening we served a selection of tapas including Spanish Almonds, Marinated Olives, and crackers topped with Manchego cheese and Guava paste. Manchego is a Spanish sheep’s milk cheese produced in the La Mancha region. It is an artisan product that is produced following strict guidelines. It is firm in texture, with a tangy, full, and rich flavour.

Marinated Olives

The wine selected included a Spanish Tempranillo and a Witches Falls wild ferment Verdelho. Both wines complimented the Spanish food perfectly.

To round out the evening we served up Churros with Salted Caramel sauce … once again another winner with the crowd.
